God’s Love for Orphans and Widows (GLOW)

Brief Description

God’s Love for Orphans & Widows (GLOW) Charity is a Faith-Based Organization registered by the registrar of societies of the Kenya Government in 2008.

The goal of GLOW is to demonstrate the Gospel of Christ through providing support for daily needs of orphans including other vulnerable children (OVCs) and widows.

GLOW is founded and run by a board of 5 Board Members with professional backgrounds who share a common faith in Christ and a burden for orphans and widows.

GLOW works in Homabay County and currently has activities covering Central Karachuonyo Ward in Rachuonyo North sub-County. Homabay County bears a disproportionate burden of HIV; it is estimated that >25% of the adult population aged 15 and above in Homabay County are HIV-positive. Consequently, a significantly large proportion of children are orphaned either partially or totally, and many women are widowed. Moreover, the devastating effect of HIV in the county has left many households poor and economically disadvantaged.
